How do you combine art and science to showcase the life-changing potential of stem cell research?
Stem cells have the potential to regenerate tissues, treat genetic disorders, and transform lives — but how do you make such complex science accessible to the public?
For Stem Cell Awareness Day, we partnered with reNEW to launch ARTxSCIENCE 2025: a competition where researchers visualised their work through art. Each entry paired striking imagery with a story about the research’s purpose, disease focus, and impact.
The campaign ran on social media, inviting the public to vote. More than 60 world-class researchers submitted their work, generating over 1.5 million impressions without any media spend. The top 12 finalists were showcased at simultaneous events in Melbourne, Leiden, and Copenhagen, where the winner was announced.
